Poly has gone mainstream TV. It's an interesting plot that would be much better if they had talented actors. Every single one of the younger cast is green AF.
I've watched hoping that the quality of acting gets better, but sadly, it doesn't.
Wow... there is not a single like-able character in this entire series. At first you think, oh, well, this character isn't as bad as the others, and then you realize they are. Was this show made in order to show us the moral decay of society?
So why did I watch two seasons? Answer: When I'm cooking I like to have something to hear/see when I occasionally look up if I'm not cooking with my boyfriend. This is how I got though season 2. I save my full attention for the good shows.
The pilot episode was great, but wow, does this show get a tine bit worse with each episode. Not a huge drop, but by the end of the season this show will be a shadow of its former potential. What a shame because the plot started out so well. I'll keep watching with hope for them to turn things around but I doubt they will.
EDIT: Nope, here we are at the end of season 1 and each episode did get slightly worse with only one giving hope of a turn around. The problem is that the show is using every gimmick known to create suspense yet it is so predictable that it just seems cheesy by the time they execute their scene. Not a single actor in the show is a strong actor, sure, David from Once Upon A Time was great, but he was a great SUPPORTING actor; in this show his lack of range shows and it is painful to see. How did so many actors who can't act get cast in the same show?
I started watching this just as the cancellation was announced because it is on Netflix. The first season was quite good. Unfortunately, season 2 turned it from a sci-fi show into a political drama. How the hell did that happen? Clearly they don't know their target market... nobody tunes into a sci-fi show expecting to see the West Wing/Madam Secretary/House of Cards featuring a narcissistic gaslighting character (Trump) ... there is already too much Trump in the news...and that is why this got cancelled.
What a nice surprise it was to find this show on Netflix. I love Gillian Anderson so I thought I'd give it a try. Very interesting premise and the plat weaves together a very diverse cast without making it seem like a forced narrative (unlike the show I recently reviewed, the revamped Rosewell New Mexico). Great supporting cast and I look forward to season 2.
I'm a bit late to this party having started watching it in 2018, but I'm glad I came across this during the holidays while all the other shows were on hiatus. This is a quirky, odd, funny, interesting show with well rounded characters and a slightly unpredictable plot that keeps you coming back. I'm finally up to date and season 4 is just starting. This one is well worth it if you're into odd sci-fi.
I have been watching this show on Netflix since 2015 and I still haven't gotten past the first season. It has become a filler show for me when I am cleaning or washing dishes. It tries to be smart and edgy but to me the lead actors come off as douche bags which makes it incredibly hard to watch or take seriously.
And don't get me started on how it is impossible that they are using a legal consultant because there are more errors in their legal theories that even a layperson can see, also making it unrealistic. Sure, I absolutely can suspend my disbelief to allow for the fact that Supergirl can fly, but that is sci-fi; this show on the other hand is about actors portraying lawyers, and lawyers are a real thing in the real world, so I expect the cases and resolutions to be plausible in the real world.
Unlikable characters, poor background plots with the legal case. I wanted to like this, but I can't.
Tried it, but it just wasn't worth investing my time. Mediocre acting, superficial characters and plot made it a difficult watch. I only managed to get two episodes in, who knows if it gets better, but knowing that it was cancelled in the second season to mediocre reviews isn't enough to make me want to find out.
This is absurdist comedy at its best. Truly a stupid yet hilarious show, even more so if you've seen the shows they parody within some of the episodes (not just the ongoing parody of Lost, but they have also parodied The Walking Dead in a short scene). Definitely worth the watch and guaranteed to laugh if you are into absurdist comedies and don't mind a bit of crude language.
This show was on my list for years and I've finally watched it in 2018. The pilot draws you in, but then with each episode you wonder if the father is a complete idiot. If you recognized your child was a genius, wouldn't you follow their instruction more readily? After a few episodes that gets pretty old, yet it continues on throughout the entire f-ing series.
