The pilot had me on the fence, but I'm glad I gave it another shot. It truly DOES get better. it is summer, our choices are limited and this is decent enough to pass the trash heap.
It is a popcorn flick, not something you'll ever re-watch and then re-watch again because it is so well-acted and complex. Nervertheless, it is a fun, simplistic good summer show. If this aired in the fall, it would die.
I had high hopes for this show. It had a good premise, but I never really got excited about any of the characters or episodes.
I managed to watch the premiere, if you can call it that, because no subsequent episodes seem to have followed. It had as many hits and misses as an episode of SNL; despite that I'd keep watching because it will likely surpass SNL if Chris Parnell and Andy Samburg continue.
Honestly, the show is surprisingly bad and I'm shocked the rave reviews. It isn't a horrible show, but it is July 2015, I've watched since the beginning trying to find what others see in it, and I've yet to find it.
I suffered through the first season because it was summer and there wasn't anything else on TV. But this year, I'd rather poke my eyes out.
I was able to make it through 15 minutes of the season 2 premier before I realized that my time is much too valuable to be spent watching this show. Untracking... I can't see how this can make it to a third season.
Interesting premise, so far I really like it. Just one thing that gives me pause about investing time in this show is that Christian Slater is in it...EVERY show he is in gets cancelled! But I'll keep watching because I read that this show was greenlit for season 2 before the premier, so at least we'll have two seasons before Slater works his magic!
I wonder if it was the studio who leaked the first episode one month ago?
I have to say that I'm surprised by the 4/5 rating this show has. I just watched the first two episodes and it is at best a 3 on a good day. The acting is just okay, not stellar. The set is cheap, like and 80s-90s Canadian TV show (and this is a Canadian show... I didn't double check, but I'm Canadian and this reeks of low budget 1980s Canadian TV). I tried, but it just didn't hold my attention halfway through the second episode. If this show survives in Canada it will only be due to the requirement of Canadian networks to have a certain percentage of Canadian content on air. If it survives in the U.S., I'll be shocked. Great plot but very poor execution and delivery. Removing it from my tracking now.
&$%#! I just watched the trailer and I'm ready to rate it 4 stars already! This looks really good... I'm a bit late to the party but I'm going to watch the pilot now and catch up on the next 6 episodes over the weekend. I'll update my rating, I hope it goes up instead of down.
The first season was really interesting because the premise has never really been done before (sure The Wire and Prison Break are prison shows, but this is from female perspective). The second season was also good enough to binge watch over a weekend. But this third season... I dunno, I might watch this over a few weeks because it isn't as good as the other seasons. I'm only on episode 3, but I'd rather watch Hannibal then go on to episode 4. It's still good, but not "binge-worthy".
This is something to watch ONLY IF there is absolutely nothing else on... it isn't horrible, but there's a reason this airs in the summer when lower ratings are a given.
