Modern Family

Every episode is funny, even the "bad" episodes have at least a couple of laughs in them, so I really can't complain. This is a true "comedy".

It's a decent enough show to pass the time. Slightly above average television. Not much to rave about but not much to complain about either.

UPDATE: Those were my thoughts after the first season. However, after the years progressed, this show has had some absolutely epic episodes that were desrving of 5/5 stars, therefore I updated my overall rating of the show from 3.5 to 4.

The biggest complaint about this show is that it is slow and it doesn't compare to Breaking Bad... well, that is because NOTHING compares to Breaking Bad, so let's all just cry and get over it.
This is a show intended for story telling, not suspenseful drama ...at least not yet, and maybe not ever, who knows? If you watch this while keeping in mind that this is NOT Breaking Bad and you will be learning more about the back story for some of the BB characters, then you'll enjoy it. If you compare it to BB, then you're in for some serious disappointment. I chose the former, so I think it's great so far.

My ears are bleeding! This show is just four (or five) women cackling at each other for an hour. They actually talk over each other, as if that makes for easier listening and enjoyment for the viewer. I'm not sure why this show has been on the air for this long.

This show is stupid in a good way! If you like silly ridiculous jokes and over the top acting and plots mixed with mindless fun, this show is great and just 15 minutes!

This was absolutely one of the best shows ever...the sort of show that makes you smile while watching and hours afterward. So the declining ratings and cancellation were a huge surprise, but not really if you factor in the impact of the writers strike that affected nearly every single show back in 2007. Shows struggled to keep viewers after an extended hiatus and many didn't return to network TV because of the strike, turning to cable instead. I think that is what killed this awesome show.

The story was quirky and funny, the filming and sets were vibrantly coloured, and the acting was as true to life as such a far fetch story could be. I'm going to re-watch this, because it was just that good of a show.

I've never been a big fan of Tracy Morgan but I decided to tune into this show to see Tiffany Haddish.

It has quite a few good belly laughs but there has always been something off with the writing. I don't know who writes each episode but sometimes there is a shit ton of pandering that makes me believe that particular writer's input is from someone who has no clue ow to write for a primarily black cast without falling into the usual tropes and stereotypes. That certainly puts me off the show but because it doesn't happen in every episode I continue to watch.

This has been on my watch list for a while because I knew that although it was an excellent production, it would be hard to watch given the nature of events being well documented history. Well, I was right, it is a very difficult watch especially given that I'm watching during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The similarity of the way certain governments lie to the public to downplay the seriousness of a disaster all to save face and money is particularly disgusting when viewed against the backdrop of this current pandemic watching countries like Belarus and the United States continuously feed misinformation about the pandemic to their citizens.

This show has an excellent production value and cast bringing light to a dreadful true story that for the most part was faithful to the real life events.
The content is difficult to watch but I still highly recommend it.

This was a well done show with a wonderful cast. As you can see from the tagline, people are given a second chance at youth. It is quite similar to all of those shows that started in 2015 to 2017 that had plot lines about dead people being given a second chance at life... there were soooo many: Les Revenants (FR), Glitch (AU), Resurrection (US), The Returned (US), Babylon Fields (US), and In the Flesh (UK). The common theme being someone gets a do-over; although Bloom is quite different in that the people are not coming back from the dead.

The casting of he old/young versions was quite good and although some bits were predictable, there was always some unaccounted for element that made watching the series worthwhile. I've just started this last week and wrapped up the 12 episodes that make up the first and second season by watching two episodes each day during the coronavirus pandemic. I'm hoping for a season three but if not, it did wrap up well enough to be the end to the series.

I'm bit late to this party but with the whole self isolation and social distancing due to the coronavirus, I'm catching up on some old shows that were recommended. I mainly tuned in for Nina Dobrev and it was nice to see the range in her acting since I've never seen her in anything other than TVD. Plus I've loved Gary Cole since American Gothic. This is a decent enough show but nothing stands out as special; which is why it was cancelled I imagine. It's a good watch if you're stuck at home and want to watch something chill, though for a comedy the laughs are few and far between.
