Great show, but it requires a great deal of suspension of disbelief because although I'm a woman and know for a fact that a strong woman can take down a man in a physical fight, there is just no way that Maggie Q, a skinny woman with not even a pound of muscle on her body can take down anyone, including me. If you look at shows like Alias where Jennifer Garner had great muscle tone and looked like a true threat, you can see that casting a skinny runway-model type like Maggie Q is a hard pill to swallow. She's far too skinny to make this role believable, but if you're good at suspension of disbelief, it was a good show.
This was an awesome show that was fairly consistent in its awesomeness throughout the seasons, with the early seasons being the most awesome. Did I mention that this was an awesome show? ;)
Years before there were superb, quality shows like Breaking Bad, there was N.Y.P.D. Blue (and in between there was a whole lot of mediocre shows).
I really dislike police procedurals, but this show has so much more than the weekly perp, from that racist Sipowitz (Dennis Franz, who is an excellent actor, just beyond words) to the saddest death of a major character in TV history (I won't spoil it if you have been living under a rock since 1993 ;)).
Now, thanks to online streaming, I'm planning to watch 12 years of awesomeness over the winter holiday when our regular TV programming goes to pot. If you haven't watched this, you are doing yourself a disservice, it is awesome.
If you have narcissistic traits as a man, then when you transition to a woman, you still have narcissistic traits, right? I have no issue with Bruce becoming Caitlyn because everyone should be happy in their own skin. But Caitlyn is no role model... come on people! Look at what he did to his first family, the blonde kids not the brunette ones ;), he deserted them. And they've forgiven him. And then he married and again KNOWING that he wanted to be a woman. He used his wives and his family as his "beard" and when he finally had the strength to live as his true self, he caused his third new family pain again. I'm not saying he should have stayed because he wouldn't have been happy either, what I'm saying is that he should have never gone down the road of pretending to be the man he appeared to be by getting married over and over again. But he's a narcissist and they only think about their needs in the moment.
Now as Caitlyn, she has no ability to put herself in the shoes of the other transgender women who she now wants to embrace her. Aside from belonging to a political party that believes transgender people should not be afforded equal rights, she also is tone deaf when it comes to understanding the privilege she had when she was a male, as a white male, and a wealthy white male. Why? Because she has no empathy and narcissistic personality disorder doesn't disappear when a person changes their gender.
Take off your rose coloured glasses and watch an episode to see just how selfish Caitlyn is...If you're looking for a transgender role model, choose anyone else but Caitlyn.
Wow! That was really bad.
Everyone is comparing this to Archer, but that is an insult to Archer. There are some big names attached to this, but bad writing trumps good actors.
This was and is still the only comedy show that I've watched that consistently made my stomach hurt from laughing too hard. I so wish that I could fill the void that this show's end left because laughter is good for the soul. The other Comedy Central shows just don't compare...Even the good ones aren't half as good as this. It sets the bar high.
I tuned in not knowing what to expect and it was a good dose of sarcastic humour. I like it and it is definitely worth devoting time to, but I wish I could find a comedy that gave me a laugh like the Dave Chappell Show. Neither this, Key & Peele or Amy Schummer (the best of the bunch I noted here) fill the gaping hole that Dave left. I digress, this is still good and gives at least a couple laughs per episode.
MPH is definitely a talented entertainer, however this show should be a month long act in Vegas or a one-time annual TV special.
Sure it's fun, but I can't see anyone sitting down to watch this weekly.
Funny, ridiculously silly and guaranteed to give you a big belly laugh despite only being ten minutes per episode!
I have loved Michael Rosenbaum since he was in Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane... and when he became Lex Luthor on Smallville I wasn't sure he could pull off a non-comedic role until i saw him. He's got wide acting range yet he seems to love comedy, which is good for viewers because he is actually funny. So far this show seems like a keeper!
