Yikes! This show is equally good as it is bad. As a 45 year old woman there are things about sexuality in this show that I only learned about within the last decade and suffice it to say that it is disheartening to know that teenagers today are exposed to most of the things presented in this show from the time they hit puberty. I just don't think they are emotionally and psychologically equipped to deal with the stuff presented in the show.

Yes, I know it is a TV show, but if you only turn on the news you see that teenagers in the real world do the same things. When I was a teenager, not so long ago, life wasn't like that. This is a result of technology, from Facebook and constantly texting to access to Pornhub, the access to tech at a young age without any knowledge of the face to face alternative, human connection among the younger generations is dwindling while anxiety, depression and suicide among them is increasing.

The show is not trying to be edgy or controversial, I think the intention is to shed some light on what is already happening to the younger generations and how the access to tech helps to make it so easy for them t stray further down that wrong path. For us older generations who grew up without tech, we can do both, but these kids would die without their phones and their whole self image is wrapped up in what others think of them on social media. Ugh...

And I should add that this show is filled with triggers for anyone who has or knows someone who: uses/abuses drugs; has suicidal thoughts; survived a suicide attempt; lost a loved one to suicide; was a victim of sexual assault or rape; was a victim of physical abuse; was a victim of psychological or emotional abuse by parents or a romantic partner. Suffice it to say, this is not your average show about teenagers.

Hudson & Rex

This is one of those cheesy-but-good shows. If it wasn't for the dog, Rex, I wouldn't watch it but I'm so glad that Rex was enough of a draw for me because I've benefited by catching some amazing views of scenic eastern Canada.
This is your typical Canadian-made TV show but it is a police procedural with a K9 partner, Rex. It's nothing like the last famous Canadian dog show, Littlest Hobo, but this dog is cute and of course smart. Without the dog I'm sure nobody would watch. On the bright side, it could be a family show to watch with older kids for the episodes where there isn't a violent criminal act, and that is what most of the episodes are like. I have to say, with each episode, I fall in love with Rex more and more... his facial expressions are so on point. Rex gets 5 stars, the show is about 3 to 3.5 stars at best, the scenic views are stars, and the ability to watch a feel-good show without all the trappings of the usual reflection of today's real life nonsensical drama being reflected as fiction is 5 stars as well.

This show quietly came in, kicked ass, took names, and then quietly left. Unfortunately, I only heard about this show halfway into the first season but I was able to catch up quickly. Rarely do you watch a show and have the ability to say that there was not a single bad actor in the bunch. This was well-acted, with a stellar cast, great plot that could have been stretched out with twists and turns for many years or allowed for resolution and new story lines each season. The possibilities were endless, however, due to Starz' piss-poor marketing of the show, it did not have the viewership necessary to keep going.
In addition, we now live in a culture where storytelling is expected to cater to those with shorter attention spans. I'm not being rude, there have been marketing studies showing that attention spans are shorter, and not for the younger generation, for EVERYONE simply because we've become accustomed to getting what we want now. If I want to know the weather, I don't have to turn on the weather channel and wait until they finally get to my city or wait for the local news to tell me, I can find out online in a second, or look at the weather app on my phone on the home screen. For some people, this has changed the way they want all of their information, and for others, we still want what we want quickly, but we can enjoy the crafting of a good story. We can enjoy layers of foundation being constructed and see the beauty and art of seeing it built into a spectacular finish. Ah well, they said there was hope that another network will pick it up for season 3, but I doubt it, these actors are excellent, which means their contracts are expensive. I hope I'm proven wrong about that last bit but it was nice to have the two seasons.

I'm 7 episodes in and I really like this show. I like both DC and Marvel shows and this the best new comic show in a while as I wasn't a fan of Marvel's Iron First or season 2 of Luke Cage or the Defenders, so for me, DC is upping its game. Though I have to say that all of these characters are new to me because I didn't read the DC comics that these characters are based on, other than Robin of course. I like the pacing of the show and the background stories provided for each of the characters, it adds nice depth and sets up the future spin offs planned.

Season 1 was much better than Season 2.

Roseanne

I planned on watching this revival before Roseanne had her racist meltdown because I used to watch the original when I was a kid and I recall enjoying it. I was glad the show was cancelled due to her racist outburst and saw so many posts about how "great" and "amazing" the revival was so I thought I'd watch an episode, which led to my watching another and another.
So why did I watch more than one? Well, it seemed to be the exact show that I watched when I was kid, which is a very simplistic show about a lower income working class family but now they seemed to be addressing some modern issues that true conservative Americans would find unacceptable (for example a boy dressing in girl's clothes) and things that the stereotypical racist Trump supporters (note that I said "stereotypical") who love this show would hate, such as DJ adopting a black child. I kept watching to see how those topics would be handled, despite the fact that the actors who plays Becky and DJ seem to not have done anything to better their craft since the original show was cancelled and the quality of the acting on the show seems much worse generally, it's almost as if they are simply doing improv, but poorly.
Sure, it is an okay show, but I didn't see any examples of "great" or "amazing". I don't understand what it is that the show's supporters are going to miss so much. There's racism everywhere in every country, I say that as a Canadian, but I would never watch this support this show after Roseanne showed her true colours.

I just can't do it. I had no idea Paula Patton was such a bad actress, and this story line is just no.
Not worth my time, even in the summer when TV shows are few and far between, I'd rather go for a walk or visit with friends because this show is not a productive use of the limited time we have.

If you put tights on an actor and call it a superhero show, I'm going to watch it until it gets cancelled. I just watched the pilot and thank God it's better than Supergirl. I really hope this picks up a bit and does well. So far, so good, but I want a GREAT new superhero show, not just more of the same.
UPDATE: If you are watching Season 1 and wishing it will get better in Season 2... it won't, it just gets progressively worse... yet I'm still watching and hoping it will get better too...uggghh

Truth Be Told

I watched the first two episodes and this show seems as if it has been airing for a decade. There is nothing original about this show and watching it feels as if it is in the 5th season and ready to wrap the final episode. Untracking.

SOOO GOOD! I thought the pilot was great and now that we are 5 episodes in my high rating still stands. This show has an interesting premise and Gemma Chan is so good at being a synth in the way she moves and speaks that she is a stand out so far.
I'll definitely check out the original Swedish version when this season ends, for a remake, they've done an excellent job.

Well acted & directed with high production values. It's really a great show, so great that I've re-watched three times.
My appreciation for the show grows each time I run through the series again. Is it absolutely horrible that I love Cersei? I know she's evil but Lena Headey plays the role in such a way that makes you silently root for her to overcome her obstacles. Granted, I don't want her on the throne but I love the character too much to want her to die for her sins.
I digress, if you are looking for a show to love and watch a dozen times until the day you die without ever getting bored, this is it.
