How do I love thee, Television, let me count the ways. I simply love television and all the possibilities the medium contains. Be it mini series, long arcs in drama series or clutching my stomach from laughing at the antics in a sitcom. I'm especially down for a some dramatic comedy or comedic drama. I'm amazed by web series and floored over consistent character development. I have a deep love for British series, flawed characters and one hit wonders among other things.
I reference this show so often. It is outrageous and hilarious. It is endlessly re-watchable and always makes me laugh not matter what. It is filled with cliches and sometimes terrible humour, but it hits my sweet spot in terms of silly and dumb comedy. Would recommend to everyone.
I'll preface this by saying that I've never read the novel, but boy did I love this miniseries. I was constantly trying to figure out who was doing the killings and I did not get there until right before the reveal. It is an intense and well acted - even the island setting adds to the excellence - mini series that keeps the viewers on their toes.
I've read that this is the first British adaptation in many years that has used the original ending of the book and not the play. I'm personally a fan of this ending and think it makes a much bigger impact on the viewer.
This is everything I love in an anthology series. The theme of the future of technology might change our lives, but the future still feels grounded in the present. The acting is fantastic and the writing is even better. The episodes are dark and uncomfortable, but so worth it.
Some episodes fall short of the overall awesomeness, but most really deliver and makes you think about the lives we are currently leading. It challenges our conception of reality and the human condition.
Wonderfully British. I mean, it has a rant about tea. Our four main guys have fantastic chemistry and it seems like they all had such a laugh doing this. It is super funny and just a delight to watch.
Louis Theroux has an amazing ability to tell the stories of the people he chooses to focus on with depth and feeling. He is open and genuinely tries to understand and connect with all the people he meets. This makes for some great documentaries on various types of people.
This has to be worst cancellation I've ever experienced. This show is fantastic, it is nuanced filled with well crafted character work by amazing actors and frequently toes the line between right and wrong letting its viewers be the judges. This is by far the best private detective show I've ever seen. I just really miss this show.
Great show! Darkly entertaining and very much on point in regards to the characters. Their relationships are often strained, but it all makes sense and is explained and expanded upon wonderfully. Phoebe Waller-Bridge has written a beautiful and poignant tale of coping with loss and portrays Fleabag with such warmth. Also: Olivia Coleman is hilarious!
My favourite show of all time. Hands down. The premise is fantastic and the humour is delightful. Kirsten Bell kills it and the supporting cast is just as great if not even better at some points. The season long story arc are refreshing from the many case by week basis of so many other shows. Just watch it! Granted, season three had some issues, but we all survived Duncan and more Veronica Mars is always great,
I am so very biased when it comes to this show, but I've gotten several friends hooked as well, so it can't be all bad.
The best non-modern adaption of Jane Austen's wonderful Pride and Prejudice. Great acting from Firth and Ehle and it follows the book. Except for the wet Darcy, but really how can I complain about that. Six hours of fantastic television.
Delightful little show with a weird premise. Every episode is short and sweet, but have a little very special episode in, so if that is not you thing, you should skip it. It brings a smile to my face to watch all these characters try and live up to the great people they were cloned from. Just a fun little show.
