How do I love thee, Television, let me count the ways. I simply love television and all the possibilities the medium contains. Be it mini series, long arcs in drama series or clutching my stomach from laughing at the antics in a sitcom. I'm especially down for a some dramatic comedy or comedic drama. I'm amazed by web series and floored over consistent character development. I have a deep love for British series, flawed characters and one hit wonders among other things.
What I love about this show is how the story happens, but the viewers are kept in the dark and denied certain details making it difficult to fully trust and empathise with many of the characters. This show feels very realistic in terms of the way the characters react to the reappearance of Ivy and how that turns their lives upside down.
Jodie Comer is as spectacular as the childlike and innocent Ivy as she is with the darker sides of the story. The interplay between all the characters is phenomenal and while Comer steals the show, the others are not far behind.
A great show and definitely worth watching.
This show makes me choke up with every new episode. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming and just beautiful. All these ladies, be the nurses or nuns, are capable, individual characters with full lives. The drama is so compelling and realistic, and the acting is spot on. Just give in and watch it already!
Fantastic show!
I adore the concept of two non-relationship people end up in a relationship. The journey these characters take from being completely "the worst" to being three dimensional characters is wonderful. The show doesn't shy away from awkward moments or uncomfortable topics, but it always manages to make everything funny.
The acting is great and everyone gets to shine and be phenomenal. This show is so worth watching.
This show is sooo great. I didn't see it coming, but once I started I couldn't stop watching. Sweet/Vicious deals with rape and the consequences of rape culture really well, and while the subject matter is dark and uncomfortable, the show never belittles or take the easy way out. Yet, it still manages to be fun to watch and tell an important story. It is nuanced and empowering and I want all teenagers to watch it so they can understand the world they live in better.
Rae is best. She is a complicated person and doesn't fit into any boxes. She is the heart and soul of the show, but supported by an amazing cast. Everyone gets to shine and be real. The show tackles some dark and sensitive storylines with nuance and an eye for how people would really react. Also the soundtrack is to die for. It is just so on point.
This show is perfect. It is intelligent and builds one story over all the episodes. It is the fun adventure romp we all need in our lives. It is fun, a little dark and just allround enjoyable television show for all ages. This show just give me all the warm fuzzy feelings and to top if off the voice cast is amazing!
Fall in love with Earth in this beautiful and complex nature documentary. The wonderful scenes are beautifully shot and narrated by David Attenborough and I really cannot recommend it enough. I have a deeper appreciation for animals and plants alike.
Funny, dark and poignant. This is the kind of show where dark comedy doesn't seem to cover it. It is super funny, but not always in a laugh out loud way. I couldn't stop watching because I needed to know more of the great and terrible world of these characters.
Quirky, but in the most delightful way. Watching this show puts me in the best of moods. It is bright, imaginable, funny and just filled with love. It just shines. The acting is great, the whole aesthetic is beautiful and it all advances the plot and character growth. It is just the best!
I'd happily watch any show with St. Clair and Parham, so I was hooked from the beginning. Sadly others were not, so sad that it got cancelled, because with the few episodes it did have it really created a full and lived-in world. And it was funny. Oh so funny.
