As the title suggests, the show holds a mirror up and shows us the pit falls that modern society has. Often showcasing enhanced technology it shows us the not too distance future and how human nature, with the help of advanced technology, can be warped into something almost evil.
Each episode is a stand-alone story that addresses a different aspects of modern life; my personal favourite being 15 Million Merits.
One of my all-time favorite shows. Every episode makes your brain hurt a little bit. None of the episodes are connected which is part of the reason the show is so great. Very dark and dramatic and a possible look at our future if we're not too careful about how far we let technology go.
This is everything I love in an anthology series. The theme of the future of technology might change our lives, but the future still feels grounded in the present. The acting is fantastic and the writing is even better. The episodes are dark and uncomfortable, but so worth it.
Some episodes fall short of the overall awesomeness, but most really deliver and makes you think about the lives we are currently leading. It challenges our conception of reality and the human condition.
Focusing on thought provocation rather than actual scares, this clever series is entertaining and well executed. The premises for each episode alone are intelligent and eerie. The series doesn't shy away from ironic endings, which only add to the suspenseful mood. This is a well done television series that I look forward to watching.
A creepy anthology of terrifying futures, each disturbing in its own way while simultaneously alarmingly possible, if not probable. What binds all the individual stories together is the dissonant intersection of the human and technology, exposing our frailties and occasionally our strengths.
I absolutely LOVE this show and its social commentary! The showrunner said that the "black mirror" is the reflection we see when we look into our smart phones, TVS and laptops when we turn them off. Each episode is a distinct and twisted take on the things that need changing in the world today because technology has changed the way we live in great ways but also with dire consequences. They manage to do this in a non-preachy way that drives home the point for those who may not have even noticed the issue before watching the episode.
When this show was cancelled I was sad but kept tracking on with hopes of a reboot...RDJ bought the rights to one episode and apparently is planning a movie... then there was a Christmas special in Dec. 2014 and now Netflix has picked up the show for 12 episodes!!! Can't wait. If you haven't watched this yet, you're in for a treat.
BLACK MIRROR - SEASON TWO
This is what a series should be. Entertaining, clever, thought provoking, social commentary, humorous, dark, on the edge, different, etc. Wow, wow, wow - please give me some more. From the scripts, acting, directing - wow! It asks some hard questions of what and where we really want technology to take us. Or maybe already have taken us. A must watch!
This was absolutely brilliant, such a great piece of modern sci-fi. Needs to come back!
S01 4.5 Stars

Black Mirror... a reflection of what is, what can be and what could be. All episodes are stand alone and touch on different aspects of life and realities that aren't too far-fetched. This British science fiction drama delves into one of the Worlds most reoccurring issues... choices one must make, the path one must choose. I recommend this show to people who like strange and odd ball series.
Each episode of Black Mirrors is a story, it makes you think about modern society and its flaws when it comes to technology. Where is mankind going with it? How far will we go? Would our lives be better with them? Or worse...
Excellent show without any doubt
