I really hate to mention what has been mentioned previously, the performances rendered are between bad and freshman.
Potential is often displayed but never realized. ALL of the actors are regrettably awful. ALL of the action sequences are campy.
Nothing about this seems right. The story line offers a promise that was never delivered.
A true display of a beginners acting class, these very beautiful actors will probably become famous, just not with this vehicle.
Blame must lie with the directors and producers (Mark A. Altman and Steve Kriozere) for these terribly executed performances.
"Tell the story and leave out the incidental characters".
Another one of those series that gets bogged down in useless back stories, which seems to be a Canadian trend.
They tend to take a talented, well received actresses, like Serinda Swan and Kristi Kreuk, and surround them with mediocre players, that take up too much air time.
It is suppose to be a mystery so why not just dig into the meat of the story. These should be whodunits. If they would just focus on the suspects the shows would be more impacting.
So frustrating...
Will this be The Good Wife clone???
As with all of Shondaland productions, the ensemble gathered promises to be diverse, entertain, and constantly in flux.
Standouts include Susannah Flood (Chicago Fire), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Wesam Keesh (Awkward), Ben Rappaport (The Good Wife, and Regé-Jean Page (Waterloo Road) just to name a few. Hopeully Britt Robertsons abilities will finally find a home!
Last but definitely not least the veterans assembled can sustain the show on their talent alone, Hope Davis, Anna Deavere Smith, Ben Shenkman, and Vondie Curtis-Hall.
Good start..
This is the perfect vehicle for Alan Cumming to display his talent.
I have never seen anything that I did not like that employed the talents of Bojana Novakovic.
The premise isn't as strong as I would like but I do feel the show has potential, if they would do some out of the box writing.
Good suspenseful crime drama.
The actors are well rounded.
A very questionable point in the story for the ending.
I tried, but this mismatched ensemble miss its mark.
The story of a Cougar chasing a young man, a wife who finds out that her husband is gay, a daughter taking care of an elderly parent with dementia, and a staunch fire captain dealing with an impetuous insubordinate, makes this too much for me to digest. I think the show would benefit if its focus was on the 911 cases rather then the personal lives of these public servants, mixing the two only dilutes the acting effort. What a waste of talent, Connie Briton, Angela Basset, Peter Krause each could have fronted their own shows, there is not enough room here for any of them to put their acting chops on display nor compliment each other.
This is another one of those shows where the writers and producers are not taking advantage of the superior talent at their disposal.
Chris North is so underused that it is as though he isn't there, sure this is a good vehicle for Leven Rambin (The Hunger Games) and Danny Pino (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Each story focuses on abductions, which can become stale with the absence of star power.
I like Cardinal with its minimalistic approach to story telling.
Billy Campbell (The Killing) and Karine Vanasse (Revenge) play well off each other.
A crime-drama-thriller similar to the Bridge, Silent Witness, The Killing and others.
In the same vane as Cardinal, both of which are Canadian productions with good story lines, however their stories and surroundings elements have a very minimal color palette.
I love Anna Paquin, unfortunately, this vehicle minimizes her artistry.
If you have ever entered college at the freshman level, this is the show to watch.
This show reflects a time when there were more questions then there were answers.
This is a great vehicle for Yara Shahidi and the ensemble gathered, and lest not forget the crazy professor, in this case, portrayed by comedian Deon Cole.
This funny and crazy comedy is absolutely relevant for college and college bound students.
