Love movies and TV shows, especially good comedy and science fiction, but also drama, crime and some fantasy. Also a few documentaries and reality TV.
This is a funny show, with good actors and great writing. Michael Rosenbaum is pretty good as Buddy Dobbs but it is the rest of the cast that really shines and brings this show together. All of the characters are very funny and interesting in their own ways and are portrayed perfectly by all the actors involved. Keep in mind this is a light-hearted comedy with lots of crazy coincidences which require a slight suspension of disbelief in order to really get into the story. Admittedly I had low expectations for this show from reading the premise but I was pleasantly surprised.
Not as great as the British original, but still a good watch for baking enthusiasts.
Created by the same team that did The Simpsons, Jay Sherman comes to life through not only the witty banter that leaps from his mouth, but also his surrounding characters. Parodying some of cinema's finest, you cannot help but laugh at this obese critic that wants nothing more than to have respect and eat his Charleston Chew. Duke Phillips provides some of the funniest social commentary on the extremely wealthy in our country. Sherman, on the other hand, represents the little man. While making $270k a year, he doesn't rise above anyone else. He reminds all of us of who we are, whether it's running a marathon or trying to clean up his hometown of New York, Sherman represents our desires and wants. One of these desires is to see good cinema. We pay top dollar to see good movies, why does Hollywood continually fill our plate with all the bread we can eat before giving us the main course? Suddenly, we are too full to enjoy it.
To all the people familiar with Karl, from his dealings with a certain Mr Gervais & Mr Merchant, you probably wont need much of an intro on what to expect from Karl. To all the non believers or Karl virgins, it's basically just a normal guy being put into strange situations & putting his own thoughts out there, but Karl being Karl, it's these thoughts which make the show. Plenty of laughs. Well worth anyones time.
Hellsing the OVA Series is a brilliant piece of work. It follows the manga much better than the original anime series, although the soundtrack to the original was brilliant, so is the OVA's.
Alucard is more deep in character than the last time and so is Anderson (even more so,) and many scenes that didn't make the anime appear in the OVA.
The graphics outdo the original series (and most other animes for that matter,) as they utilise cgi in important scenes. The same voice actors from the original show are here, along with a few new ones.
Blindspot appears to be following the trajectory I predicted during the premiere: the “tattoo clue crime of the week” is mostly a series of over-the-top action movie montages of running, hand-to-hand fights, machine guns, car chases, and shit blowing up. The crime is eventually solved by TV-logic detective work, meaning implausible clues, impossible technology and rapid-fire nonsensical solutions. The main reason to watch right now is its badass actors; the whole cast is sparkly and edgy by equal measure. It’s a shame that their characters appear so one-dimensional.
Irreverent to everything, including itself, this show takes a light look at the harsh reality for most 20somethings. It's refreshing, constantly funny and well-acted. With three slackers as the main characters, it's nice to see each one slack in their own style, be it uptight, mellow or on the edge.
A classic Nickelodeon show: funny, crazy and weird!
The humor is great, the stories are surprising, the characters are grotesque and the dialogue is highly inventive. A cartoon classic that's not for small children.
It's not really a horror series, far as I can tell, but in the ten minutes of the first episode, it runs through a lot of the horror movie staples. It has all the bits and pieces, all the tropes of a horror story, but the context is just slightly off, so it all ends up falling into comedy. It's really clever. Watch this!
