The first thing I did after moving to my own place was get a 55-inch TV. My DVR fills up fast because I have extreme difficulty canceling a series pass, apparently. When I'm not watching the teevees, I'm planning new features for SideReel!
I suppose the actual obstacles/challenges are entertaining (and impressive!) but the standard layer of docudrama reality show BS on top makes this less fun for me.
A creepy anthology of terrifying futures, each disturbing in its own way while simultaneously alarmingly possible, if not probable. What binds all the individual stories together is the dissonant intersection of the human and technology, exposing our frailties and occasionally our strengths.
How can a show about hookers and gambling with such good acting be so dull?
Meh, pretty terrible and unfunny, but I gave it an extra half star on Rob Lowe alone.
Ugh, I was hoping for so much more. Look, I have no problem with brutality, nudity, and I get downright excited about swords and dragons. However, except for the dragons, which possibly get a pass, all of this has to serve some higher purpose, some message, some ethos. Sorry, but vengeance alone doesn't cut it. Meh.
A slick piece of torture porn reminiscent of Kevin Williamson's other not-much-better-show, The Following. Unfortunately, while Dylan is hot and charming (at 53!), he is not as compelling as Kevin Bacon by a long shot. I am all about procedurals, but this one is heavy-handed, poorly written, and mindlessly seeks the shock scare. Meh.
Oh, what a campy ridiculous delight this show was. I will love Rob Estes forever.
Grim, but enlightening.
I know these shows are a little shady and many people gain the weight back, but the burgeoning joy in the eyes of the clients at the end of a year and the incredible transformations they go through sure do make for great TV. In addition, Chris is the cutest, sweetest, most genuine trainer you could imagine.
Maybe it's my 80's nostalgia, or my appreciation for hilariously retro animation, but this show is cracking me up!
