The first thing I did after moving to my own place was get a 55-inch TV. My DVR fills up fast because I have extreme difficulty canceling a series pass, apparently. When I'm not watching the teevees, I'm planning new features for SideReel!

Not even Debra's charisma can save this sloppy, cheesy, terrible procedural.

Mr. Robinson

This show isn't quite *good*, but my fondness for Craig Robinson and his natural charisma makes it watchable. It's a little too old-school sitcom for my taste.

I'm this close to abandoning this show, but now that it is probably going to be canceled, I feel strangely compelled to ride it out to its gory, exploitative end. I seriously don't know why I do this to myself.

Being Human

Despite somewhat ridiculous plot lines (even for a supernatural show), the charisma and talent of the three attractive leads really made this American remake a lot of fun to watch. I think the show runners were wise to wrap it up as they did, but I still miss it.

Although I'm not particularly into musicals, I'm powering through because I cracked up a few times in the pilot episode, the protagonist is a hottie, and there is no way I'm missing cameos by John Stamos, Weird Al, and Ricky Gervais. Sadly, Hugh Bonneville's pirate captain was a bit disappointing. However, regular Vinnie Jones is outstanding as the King's profane and stoic right-hand man.

All this heavy-handed mess made me want to do is watch the movie. Also, really, an Iggy Azalea reference? That won't age well.

I feel so dirty (heh) but I am mesmerized by this show. Has there ever been a better way to feel like a neat person?

New Girl

New Girl took a few episodes to realize it was an ensemble show, and for a season or two, was one of the funniest sitcoms I'd seen in years. Once a certain couple formed, some of the magic of the show evaporated, and I'm afraid it's on a downward trajectory.

Now that said couple has broken up, I'm laughing once again. Coincidence? I think not!

This is an outstanding, hilarious travel show... you'll never see a more surly and reluctant traveler. He actually does have a good time every now and then, despite his best efforts.

The pilot (har) didn't knock it out of the park, but I definitely laughed, which is more than I can say for most new comedies. The Lost aspect made me giggle quite a bit and the leads can hold their own. There's a nostalgic Office Space vibe that I'm digging. Jury is still out though...

I immediately watched Flight of the Conchords afterwards for more Rhys Darby.
