The show fulfilled my expectations. Entertaining, not very surprising plotlines. I got bored after some time, because I didn´t really notice much development with the characters. If you don´t watch to many episodes at once so, it should be finde.
After GG ended, I looked through similiar stuff and gave 90210 a try. I actually enjoyed the first one or two seasons, but unfortunatly the characters couldn´t really win me over. They got annoying really quick and even so I tried a comeback after some time, I just coulcn´t stomack some of them anymore. So this would be a very personal reason for deciding against watching it. In general, if you like that kind of teen drama, I would still recommend it.
It has been a while since I watched that show. Actually I read the books first, which I would also recommend. In enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunatly the effects are not the best, I would say similiar to Charmed etc. You need some imagination on your part to work with that. The characters on the other hand I quite enjoy. Vicki is a strong woman and not just some childlike girl. There are actual adults in a vampire story, I like that! For fans of the show I would recommend the books, which are of course more in depth and have quite a few more stories in it.
Sucked me right in! As many I wachted Orange first, but I agree, that this show is even better. Darker, edgier, more dangerous. I like the characters better as well.
I was looking forward to it and the general idea - even if there already are similiar shows- hat quite some promise. Unfortunatly they put to much focus on the maincharacter and gave her a too selfcentered personality. It is neither believable nor makes it fun to watch. The rest of the cast seems to be there help put the spotlight on Alex. It made me loose interest as well as develop some distaste for the show.
I liked the idea and the beginning. But the acting couldn´t really get me hooked and it seemed to get weaker every episode. Still I think it might be more believable for a younger audience, which of course it was made for.
I loved it. Strong female characters, interessting setting and plotline.
Claire is a strong and independant female lead you must admire. Her story is unique and combines elements of what seems historical fitction or maybe fantasy with topics like romance, tragedy, culture clash, war, feminism, in general overcoming obsticles and so much more. Her male counterparts are also impressing charakters and I like that the antagonist so far was also given some thought and depth. I can only recommend it and have great hope for season 2.
An interessting study of American suburbian life. If you have an eye for it, there are actually quite a few interessting sociological facts to think about. Besides that the plots and twists are catching and the characters - even if there are annoying phases - do evolve over time. Not every show gives you that. I am actually watching it the second time, both with my boyfriend, and we find it quite entertaining. Also because of all the different twists, you can never remember it all and therefore can always give it a second go.
I remember I didn´t even want to watch it. Thankfully I got coninced by a friend then. But while I may have been a sceptic, I have become a believer quite fast. I remember one day aksing, what´s so great about Spike and two weeks later joining the fan club.
The show is great. It had character development, different challanges, interessting constellation of characters and teen romance with vampires. Years before Twilight it was ahead of it´s time. ;)
