Author of the book Axing My Exes and blogger of Jerrica's Jerks. I love to write, laugh, and be outside. TV shows over movies any day. If I could strap a screen to my face while gardening and simultaneously write, my life would be complete. TV, for myself, is not to escape but to inspire.
A refreshing best friend duo with a certain result of them not ending up together (cough cough HIMYM, Friends, Seinfeld, etc.). It was current and fresh, funny and had potential, but the elephant in the room was the annoying performance of the girlfriend character. Her dialog was poorly written and over exaggerated to the point of unlikeability. That plot twist should have come much later on in the series, possibly not until the season finale to keep viewers interested in season 2. Unfortunately that will never happen. Wamp. Ps Can Nick Zano get any hotter?!
Better than expected! Stamos is doing his Stamos thing then gets blindsided with a 26-year-old son and a granddaughter, which gives his bachelor lifestyle some perspective. As cheesy as some of the lines are, I do find real life in this concept. People are so business focused these days and don't even notice a meaningful life is being put on the back-burner. I find the son a little annoying and slightly too pathetic but this sitcom has potential.
Surprise, Geeks know nerd trivia. Other surprise, geeks like to nurse 1 drink...on a drinking show. I wanna see shots! I wanna see Z Levy making fun of the slurring nerds. I want the contestants to get questions wrong because they are drinking. Isn't that what the title teases? I think Levy is a fun host and the concept is currently popular but in order to make it unique (and true to its title), they need to up the a-a-a-a-alcohol.
Scary? No. Drama? Hardly. Funny? If you think mixing Scary Movie, Pretty Little Liars, and Mean Girls is a good concept, then I guess you will think it's enjoyable. It has the makings of a cult following (for under 21-ers) but the plot seems too silly (not to mention anyone over 21 will find it too repetitive to similar plots in the past ) to want to tune in every week. I know it's meant to be silly, but it can border on cheesy really quick. They need to implement a fresh (more intelligent) twist to it or else it will fall flat. Unfortunately it also has much more of a pre-teen feel than I anticipated. But kudos to Jamie Lee Curtis for being a hot piece of a** to the college boys.
Oh poor awkward Kevin (from work). It's a very juvenile premise with adult actors. If they were interns, this would work better, make more sense, and hit the correct demographic. With that off my chest, the roommate actress is absolutely hilarious. She deserves a gold star for the perfect stalker.
Veterinarians helping wild animals in exotic locations. Personally, this show made me a little sad. I think the reality of devastation is eye opening, and the people who dedicate their lives to this admirable cause are saints, but won't be watching religiously, I'll save these eps for a sick day.
A sexy guilty pleasure for any woman looking for a little spice on an night in. Order some takeout, pop a bottle of red and melt into the juicy drama! Hot maids giving us a glimpse into what goes on behind closed doors of their rich and famous employers. Love!
Hmmm, where have I seen this exact same plot? Oh ya, every robot series in the world. Regular family buys hot robot, kids and wife have issues with it. Meanwhile, robots are developing beyond the scientists programming. Someone falls in love with a robot and tries to rescue it from 'slavery'. A 'robots are people too' revolution ensues. As much as I'd love to love this series, I hate copy-cats (The Office is an exemption). If they change it up with a fresh twist, I'll take a second look. Otherwise, I can easily re-watch the original Swedish version with subs.
Malin Akerman steps into an instant family with two ex wives and three children. Sound messy? It was! But it was also incredibly funny and well cast! I think its title did them in, but of the 'family' comedies out there, this one should have stayed!
David Duchovny channels both his previous roles from Californication and The X-Files and becomes Sam Hodiak in Aquarius. Not only is he a cop, he's also a mess - one who is centering in on the sketchiness of Charles Manson, this is, if he can get his own shit together. Slow but steady.
