I stumbled across this show in the breakroom at work, and from the first five minutes I saw, I was hooked. This show is medical without being cold, dramatic without ever going over the top, and touching without getting too cheesy. The midwives of nonnatus house fall in love with their patients, and so will you.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Will Forte's "Last Man On Earth" is a glimpse into the life of a man who finds himself alone at the end of humanity as we know it. This show is hilarious, but also makes us wonder what would WE do under the circumstances? Would we raid the Smithsonian? Use a swimming pool as a toilet? Would we ever get so pathetic as to call a volleyball our best friend? In conclusion: this show rocks.
Maria Bamford is probably the most absurd, off-the-wall comedian I have ever seen. With that in mind, this show is incredibly well put-together. It is often easy to get lost in a program that is so zany and unpredictable, but Bamford's sharp focus on her character had me hooked. The format is quirky and avant-garde, and the writing is great. Bonus points for guest comedians.
