When a tablet-addicted police officer, Veronika Gren (Alexandra Rapaport), a mother of two, sees a deceased boy (Sam Herrgård) she questions her own sanity. She soon realizes that these visions will be crucial in solving unsolved crimes and is forced to reluctantly accept that the boy may not be an illusion. Veronika finds a body in the forest at the same time as her nightmares become increasingly worse and the relationship with her husband Tomas (Tobias Santelmann). She gradually realises that her past can help to catch a killer on the loose.
