Unbreakable Machine-Doll takes place in an alternative time-setting of the 20th century. In the early 20th century, the power of magic has been discovered. Shortly after the discovery, magic was quickly weaponized into many different forms. Raishin Akabane, the main character of the story, is one of those people who is able to utilize magic as a weapon.
In the story, he attends the London-based Royal Academy of Machine Arts with his female companion Yaya who is in reality a human-like puppet that he uses as a weapon in combat. This is comparable to the anime series “Zatch Bell” and “Rozen Maiden.”
