What happens when an atheist walks in front of traffic, and suddenly finds himself face to face with the God he does not think exists? In Court Street Productions new dramedy series, The Book of Dallas, Dallas McKay reacts the same way anyone else would, he swears. Profusely. Then, he resigns himself to his fate. Fortunately for Dallas, God is not, instead noting that, He has terrible spokespeople; you're probably better off if you don't believe. Makes you a better person. So instead of eternal damnation, Dallas' disbelief yields a mission: return to Earth and write a new Bible - something that takes out all of the hatred and intolerance, and ends the violence and bigotry that happens in God's name. Then, take it on a book tour and sell it to the world. So begins The Book of Dallas, a ten episode satire written by Joe Atkinson (Reality) and produced by Atkinson, Jakob Bilinski (Shade of Gray, Three Tears on Bloodstained Flesh) and Marx Hernandez Pyle (Silence of the Belle, Reality on Demand). The series, which is currently in production in and around Evansville, Ind., follows Dallas through his book tour as he faces down protesters, religious leaders and even his own followers in an effort to find common ground among the world's major religions.
