Lucy Rose, a 12-year-old girl with a serious heart condition, is admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital to await treatment. On the night before her operation, Lucy reads JM Barrie's tale of Peter Pan to her fellow patients, and as she eventually drifts off to sleep, her dreaming mind conjures up the magical world of Neverland. Stepping into the role of Wendy Darling, the youngster meets the mischievous Peter, and joins him in battling the villainous Captain Hook, while in the real world, Lucy's mother Julie remains distraught at the prospect of losing her beloved daughter, and seeks comfort in the assurances of paediatric surgeon Mr Wylie. A re-imagining of Barrie's classic tale, starring Stanley Tucci, Laura Fraser, Hazel Doupe and Zachary Sutcliffe, with pop star Paloma Faith playing the role of Tinkerbell.
