Kelly Ripa is looking for female inventors with "million-dollar ideas" from all over the country. She gives them a chance to pitch their homemade inventions. The winner will receive a deal with the Home Shopping Network and a chance to work with business entrepreneurs to get their product on the market. Tonight's genre: beauty. The three woman who make it to the challenge are Tonya (self-adhesive hair roller), Marcy (hair styling station) and Stefany (hair cuff). They briefly mention auditions across the country, but where were they? I wanted to see these quirky woman try to sell their ridiculous products. It's like the auditions are the best part of American Idol and I wish they would have shown a short clip of some funny ones. As for the challenges, I thought they were appropriate, but the business consultant they brought in (Wendy Robbins, inventor of the tingling head massager, which I never heard of) was a little bitchy. The focus group and photo challenge made sense and I definitely think Marcy rightfully won even though her product seemed to have the least mass appeal. I like Kelly Ripa and I think she was a good host, but I could only see myself watching if I happened to stay in on a boring Friday night. The show was missing a little something that would drag me in every week.
