In this updating of the popular 1990s series, Smallville's Kristin Kreuk stars as detective Catherine Chandler, and she's got a monster in her past. As a teenager, she was witness to the murder of her mother, and would have died herself, if not for the intervention of what police deemed to be some kind of "animal."
