Flora Montgomery marks the 400th anniversary of the Hamilton & Montgomery settlement of the Ards and looks at the legacy of these Scots settlers.
She explains how Hamilton & Montgomery, two Scottish lairds, came to own vast tracts of land in Ulster and how they settled the land with Scots families.
Although they were bitter rivals, that feud is long since resolved, and Flora - a descendant of Sir Hugh Montgomery - visits Colonel Hamilton in Killyleagh to find out more about the impact of their forebears' arrival.
She also talks to present-day Ulster-Scots speaker, Will McAvoy and explores how the Ulster-Scots tongue and way of life are very much alive.
