This is one of my favorite shows, of all time. The characters are all so colorful, both figuratively and literally, and oh the sparkles! The setting is Nanba prison, a crazy secret prison somewhere off the coast of Japan, and the inmates are skilled prison breaker that are not all that motivated to leave. The real plot has some dark undertones and takes a few episodes to really form, but the comedy throughout is great and the forth wall is broken often. I can't wait for the next season. :)

This was the first show I really got hooked on, and it holds a special place in my heart. The story is unique and thought-provoking. It involves cool tech and teamwork saving the world. I loved the use of the two forms of animation, and the soundtrack. The formula of each episode can get a bit repetitive, but the plot does evolve over the seasons. I would really recommend it to anyone that likes cartoons and science fiction.
