For a show called Dracula it needed more blood, sex, gore and thrill. It was to much of a drama and didn't have enough action and thrilling scenes. I'm sure if the network would have given this series another season it would have been much better. I recommend this show to the drama fantasy enthusiast only.
Band of brothers is based on a encounters within the WW2 in Britain. The characters are very well portrayed and cast. The bond these actors create in this mini-series is amazing. You can feel every emotion, you can taste their pain and embrace their bond. This is an epic tale of war, pride and honor. An excellent show for anyone who wants to learn some of the worlds fundamental principles.
13 Reasons Why is a drama that unravels the story behind a girls suicide. Following a series of tapes she leaves behind after her suicide, the show follow one young man seeking the truth and revealing that everything has meaning.... the butterfly effect is real. The story is fresh, the cast is well versed and the truth well... the truth reveals the intricacies of life itself. Pay attention to whats around you... you may find that you have more impact that you think. A very good series from Netflix... a recommend watch.
The Blacklist Redemption is a spin off series of The Blacklist. It follows the story of Tom Keene, an assassin that in searching for wife's assailant. He teams up with his biological mother to search for answers of his past and of his present. It's pretty awesome that he gets his own show... the characters are well versed and the story seems quite intriguing. Let's just hope that this does better than most sequels... it didn't. The show lacked originality and the story wasn't intriguing enough... but a nice attempt i suppose.
A Series of Unfortunate Events is a narrated fantasy drama and a re-imagination of Lemony Snicket's series of books of the same name. The show is an off and whimsical tale of children who face.... again "name of show". They face a dire decent of misery, tribulation and utter inconvenience that will change their lives forever. Neil Patrick Harris delivers a decent depiction of the malicious villain that is trying to take the children's fortune. The show is just a little boring to me...
Chance is a drama thriller about consulting neuro-psychiatrist that refers patients to specialists and treatment plans. It's nice to see Hugh Laurie playing a main role again as a doctor named Eldon Chance who's life is in disarray. He's going through a separation and is struggling to obtain money to pay bills, support his ex and spends most of his time with patients who are mutilated by life. Through all this he wants to go above and beyond for his patients... a moral imperative to dig into the truth. The show has a great and diverse cast that portrays the unique characters with pose. The story is quite compelling and I'm looking forward to see the underlying plot unfold.
"Eldon Chance is a 55 year old right handed neuro-psychiatrist, of late he is increasingly aware of a mental state he find to be dark and unstable, he fears he has been drawn to the precipice of some new and terrible reality and now having stumbled, he will be unable to keep from falling." Eldon Chance
Channel Zero is a horror mystery surrounding the deaths of children. The series follows a man who lost his twin brother and travels back to the past into memory lane remembering the events leading to his brothers murder. This man is now trying to decipher what actually happened in the past and what is happening now once again in the present. This series is a strange one... a television show may be behind it? There's still much to unfold and I'm looking forward to what is coming next...
Haters Back Off is a hilarious down to earth comedy about a home schooled girl who is misunderstood and tries to become famous by posting videos on the internet. This show has a lot of real life context and is "okely dokely" funny. The characters are cast beautifully and portrayed with and excellent sense of self. The family in which this girl lives with is "different" but so is she... pointing towards the premise of the show; that you should always be yourself despite what others think. The comedy is in your face and very to the point... an all around good show.
Season 1 - 4.5 Stars
Season 2 - 3 Stars
What an excellent day for an exorcism.... The Exorcist is a horror thriller about possession. This re-imagined television series covers the study of a possession and the fight to rid evil presence from the accursed body of the victims. The story is well imagined, the script is well versed in demonic portrayal and atmospheric entanglement. The demonic scenes are epic... very well done. I am looking forward to what this redo has to offer.
StartUp is a show about money, technology, gangs and crime. A new kind of currency is about to take over... are you in... are you willing to StartUp. The story is something that grasped my attention with well drawn characters and a raw script. The cast is full of B list actors reaching out of their element and proving themselves by nailing their parts. I strongly recommend this show.
