Jeff & Some Aliens is an animated comedy about an average human "Jeff" trying to convince aliens that the human race is worth existing. This series is a spin-off of "Triptank" and is a decent cartoon but should not really be a solo project. The jokes are funny and the premise of Jeff's adventures are comical but the show lacks a "wow" factor for me. A decent cartoon for background noise...
Taboo is a British period drama about a man believed to be dead whom comes back to London to attend his fathers funeral and avenge his death. He takes over his fathers assets in a disdained business in an era of corruption, greed, satire and politics. The story is a solid one and the characters are well written and conveyed with beautiful interpretation through a strong cast. The story is riddled with mystery and carries a backbone of righteousness. The main character delivers a dark aura... an inner revolution. He's experiencing a battle within, strange things happened to him abroad... He struggles to grasp a calm reality, a steady hand... He must fight the demons within and the demons without. I recommend this show to the period drama connoisseurs.
"Forgive me father for I have indeed sinned."
Emerald City is a new adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz", a fantasy drama that engulfs a unique and wild story. Some of the ideals used remind me of "Alice in Wonderland" and the characters are well odd I might say. The premise of this story is like the original.... Oz must be saved and Dorthy is trying to find her way home by navigating through this strange new World. Who will she meet along the way? What surprises does she have in store? You'll just have to watch to find out... I know I'm looking forward to it.
The Mick is a sitcom about a woman who is a careless, free spirited and a con-artist. She ends up having to take care of her sisters kids (her sister is rich by the way) and giving them terrible advice but she is still a good person at heart... she means well... or does she? Watch as this women coxes, mocks, cons and stumbles her way threw life with her immeasurable antics. The cast is great, the story is funny and I recommend this show to the comedy fanatic.
Flash is a superhero action drama about well you guessed it... the superhero Flash. This superhero can run at an immense speed and fights to protect Central City for all sorts of bad guys, disasters and still tries to live a normal life. The show is action packed and has a riveting back story. A recommend television series for the superhero oriented.
Casual is a sitcom about a couple of siblings and a teenage daughter fighting their way through life's relationships. The struggles of dating, the ambiguity of love and the support of family. The cast are well versed and the script is pretty solid. This is a very "casual" show and a nice watch. I recommend this show to all sitcom lovers.
This British fantasy period drama is set in the 1930's and follows an adaptation of Jekyll and Hide. This show depicts the originals grandson trying to find his place in the World and understand his ailment. The atmosphere is a delicate spin that deems an evil homage to the shady atmosphere of Britain's streets. I really like the acting of the main character, well done. I don't like the main plot which is probably the reason why the show didn't make it past season 1 but still a decent drop from the Brits once again.
Perilous times are upon us... are you ready? Anarchy, desolation and supernatural phenomena is what comes in the" Aftermath". This show is an apocalyptic science fiction of a family trying to survive after the planet is struct by disastrous and or biblical events. The show is low budget and the cast is weak... another plug show by Syfy... so disappointing. WHERE ARE THE GOOD OLD SYFY SHOWS???
Van Helsing was very disappointing... story wasn't intriguing, acting was sub-par and script was at best alright. Another one of those low budget shows released by Syfy to fill a spot. Whoever approves these shows makes me laugh... at least it made me feel something, even if it was the wrong thing... I don't recommend it.
You're the Worst is a comedy about a couple of people who're passive aggressive and quite pessimistic about relationships. Together they're a tornado of relationship destruction, ruining other peoples fun, relationships and personal views. The writing is witty and the story is quite relatable and the characters are unique. Being a pessimist myself this show is an amazing watch for me.
