I honestly didn't have any high hopes when I decided to give this TV show a try. I just saw the cast and that's what attracted me to it. But, OMG was I surprised after I watched the first episode! The chemistry between the actresses, acting and bits and piecies of characters' lifes paired with great messages to not just women but everyone about taking a stand, diversity, and focusing also on what the journalism should really be about, captivated me and made the time pass so swiftly.
I have to say that even though situations in which all tree women found themselves in were to be expected and could be seen from a mile away, just as the solutions of the problems were( though maybe a bit too soon), that didn't take away from the show's nice and easy flow and it's ability to make you focuse on the lifes of young, prospering women who stand up for themselves, don't compromise what they believe in and don't let others silence them. ( I was a big fan of Chasing Life and Faking it, so I might be a bit bias when it comes to Stevens and Dee ).
I truly hope that The Bold Type survives in this men's world where we often have a tendency to shut down everything that has even a small trace of women empowerment in it, and be the inspiration that all of us sometimes need!
