Anime recommended by TelevisionFanboy

Not only is he a damn good writer but he always points me in the right direction re: tv shows (and books!). I'm a total anime noob but really want to try it, I just don't know where to start. So, his excellent article on which shows might suit all of us really has made me excited about watching the shows I've included below, with more to follow. I'm dipping my toes in the anime pool!
