A pinch of chaos. A dollop of pent up grief. A great recipe for this family drama.
I rather enjoyed the first two episodes of Damnation. Logan Marshall-Green got my attention when he starred in his last go of it Quarry. He brings a Tom Hardyish flavor of badassery. I love shows were good and evil swirl around together so much that there is no telling which is which. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the series unfolds.
7Seconds is a very well written and acted crime drama focusing on the hit and run death of a child. I find that most crime dramas greatly misrepresents the jobs of law enforcement and the court process. The message 7 Seconds sends is a powerful one, and one that shouldn't be ignored.
This won't be cracking my top shows, but it is still very much worth watching. I really enjoy the way the show incorporates in great detail the socio-economic, and current events of the time. It's gritty and dark. The characters are strong, the acting is average. That doesn't take away from the intriguing story unfolding. I hope this gets a second season. I would love to see where they take the story and how they involve more historical characters and events.
