The Handmaid's Tale

So Far... Fabulous! It's really sticking close to the book, which I like, and it's not only cool because it's current, but it is so poignant with everything going on in the states. It really shows how easily and quickly people's individual rights can be taken away when they give up they're freedoms and privacy out of a fear of terrorism. This is such an important series to see. It really shows what can happen when as a society tolerance is replaced by fascism. I am amazed at how amazing this is going, so much so I just had to say something. :) Yay! Margret Atwood! Good for you!

Hmmm. I don't know if anyone out there grew up watching Archie's Weird Mysteries', but Riverdale kind of went from a loveable nostalgic television choice, that could have been a fresh take on the comics I read as a child to a really terrible high school hybrid of Archie's weird Mysteries' and Saved By the Bell. I don't know how long I can continue watching this. Umm.. I already untracked it, thought again and re-tracked it, ready to give up and go and watch Versailles. I have to say, I don't know exactly what I want here, but this isn't it.

Awesome season starter! Can't wait for the surprizes this season will bring. This was always one of my favourite shows!

It seems to me that this show is becoming stale. I thought Susan Sarandon was going to be a new plot line? What happened? Back to the mundane story lines of the past. I don't know how long I can keep watching this show if it does not step it up a bit.

So here we are, season 5. I love this show, and have loved it since it's beginning. From it's amazing Les Mis musical numbers to it's wacky weird and wonderful surprises at the end of every season. Although fascinating, I should not need to sit here with a paper checklist of those who are dead, copies, resurrected or coming back from the dead. The plot lines are always so convoluted, and although originality never suffers in the magicians, which I like, I kind of want the gang to catch a break and just live as magicians for a while. I mean when the world is always about to end and turn into the apocalypse I have to kind of wonder if it's all worth it. Let it blow up. I mean poor Julia and Alice. Both of these women have godlike powers, Julia maybe even a little more so, but to constantly be striving for something gets old. Let the gals relax for a while. I want to see them happy. No more tragedy on the magicians. Quentin is dead. The new Penny could potentially help Julia find some happiness, and I want to see Alice happy too. I like that Penny is being forced to teach. It makes him more of a grown up. I love these characters, but they keep losing each other as soon as they find one another. Elliot and Margo seem to always be there for each other, although I loved the dynamic w Josh , i'm sure he will be resurrected though. Just let this be the season to give us some stability Sy Fy! Lest we tire of the ceaseless conflict.

I Loved this series! It was so cheesy yet awesome! I don't understand though if there is supposed to be another season. It sets it up with one with the gun being found by Pilgrim's young pupil. Is there more. I secretly hope there is more. If anyone knows if there is another series / offshoot of this I would totally watch it. Awesome series. I watched the entire thing in 3 days. Riveted.

Yay!!! Third season Renewed! I will definitely be watching this show. Hopefully the switch in the shows management will make the show come together a little more than last season. As mean as it is to say I hope they keep Katrina dead.(She was so confusing as a character)I don't know if I want to see a budding romance between Ichabod and Abby, as at this point it might seem thrown together but each of their partners shouldn't interfere with the demon fighting they do as witnesses. Rather I just want to see clear direction in this show. Maybe a common foe to get everyone focused on one goal. Don't bite off more story than you can chew!!!!!!!

Although there has been a lot of different opinions about this show and how good it is, I think it is fair to say that it is one of the only shows that consistently seems to be growing week by week and getting better and better. (Unlike recent musical disasters ... Galavant) There are so many Marvel spinoffs and other terrible superhero spinoffs (Sorry) out there that seem to be thriving in our culture. This show is at least trying to be unique. It is attempting to explain the batman story before Bruce was batman by showing the growth of Gotham’s corruption. It’s attempting to show its audience how Gotham got to be the place that gave birth to Batman’s vigilante persona. And is really the first show that is attempting to show its audience Bruce Wayne’s struggle as an individual rather than using the back story to explain why he becomes a vigilante. Trying to show the audience Bruce’s struggle with the city and losing his parents to Gotham’s modern day corruption actually gives us a reason for Batman’s personality without it becoming hokey. Given, there is a lot of growing of character needed to make the show a success, and I would certainly call the show ambitious because Batman’s struggle is no quick thing that can be explained away after a couple seasons. But Gotham itself seems to me like a fresh take on a stale story. And this viewer is certainly rooting for it!
