I see this show going on for a good few seasons (I am hoping anyway!) Extremely well produced, remake of Michael Crichton's film from Back-in-the-Day. NOT as violent as the pre-premier reviews were saying, it's just implied that more will happen behind the closed doors, but you don't see much at all. My new favorite sci-fi show!
Probably the first TV series I watched as a kid. Loved it from the start - and I continue to! Few cheap shots, always evolving characters, and lots of interesting concepts (mainly stolen from films or books!) explored in their universe. Recent series' seem to be stale-ing out a little, but I will never stop tuning in!
This show, for me, plants seeds of Brooker's true cynical genius. Especially after watching this, yeah.. Black mirror needed to be made by THIS guy! ♥ ♥
Biggest pity that Chappelle had to walk away from this, If you like the guy's humour - this is a must watch!!
SOMEBADDY SAAAAAAVE MEEE!!
One of my all time long-lasting shows. For me, this show ticked all and any superhero-origin-story-type boxes I ever will have.
Superman is my favourite superhero story, and this series hit it all from all angles. Loveable characters, you will attach to them all... once you get through the Dawson's Creek-y vibes of early seasons ;)
Channel 4 does it again with Peep Show, glad we got a good few seasons for this one. For me it wandered about a bit in the last few seasons, but the final was purely great!
This show. I truly and deeply wish they'd have stuck with the original premise or concept of a Science/Physics infused drama/comedy with characters 'for everyone to fall in love with', with very cleverly written jokes - that would have divided much of the audience in why they like the show.. But no, very quickly they went down the FRIENDS route. Last few seasons for me have been a minute-by-minute dismissing- grinned-reaction to another poor pun. Many people in the UK watch Eastenders/Some-other-long-running-soap-opera to pass 30 minutes on a Monday/Tuesday. I watch Big Bang Theory for this reason.I should stop.
As others said, the cancellation was expected... It seems - perhaps the creators knew too, the finale wraps things up nicely with a small window for a second season. Braindead is a GREAT show! My only gripe with it was that it was too in the middle - some drama, some sci-fi/horror element, a little bit funny, a little bit serious and a little bit quirky. If they took the idea (probably away from CBS) and actually went with it into a genre fully, then it might have gained cult status very quickly and taken off. VERY well made over all, i really loved bingeing on it in the last 3 days.
Ultimately, should have been made in the 80s or 90s (or in the style of), and we'd all be raving about it akin to Stranger Things.
REALLY worth watching!
[After finale]
It's a harsh watch, but they did stick to known facts, which is really necessary at these times
Of all the potential (actor) spin-off/solo shows they could have done with Community... wow, they did this one.
