slow comedy...good for a chuckle but no real plot

I am sorry to the millions of TWD fans out there, but I seriously do not understand how you managed to watch the first episode, let alone the first season and still chose to watch more. The first episode was so slow with almost no plot, the fascination with this show eludes me. I have completed the first season and still have the same question....WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU ALL CONTINUE WATCHING THIS SHOW? I will continue to catch up (in my spare time only) in hopes that I can discover some plot, interest, or desire to watch. At this point I feel the real zombies are the multitude of TWD fans.
