Completely won over and smittened by these seemingly unrelated characters after just 1 episode. This is really heartwarming, conscious and thematically relatable on man-ny levels (see what I did there)
Totally worth a watch. Mandy Moore is not annoying either.

Its like it takes all the bits of cynicism there is about people, places, things, ideas etc then packages into a delightful, whimsical, mystical and funny 20 odd minutes show.
Rejects, Outcasts, Criminals and Losers walked in a bar and decided to Start-up a company for various reasons. There is no punch line.
Great character development, intense moments and dodgy american accents. Worth watching especially if you are a defender of equality but found there is something missing.
I would have liked to see where this went. Its a shame it hasn't been picked up.
There is an element of reprise in Better Things as we have the co creator Pamila Aldon almost playing the same character, Marcy from Californication, only as a single Mom with older kids. Nothing wrong with that, as she was a very funny, clearly human and pretty hedonistic character. Better Things provides a slightly toned down version with the addition of the alternative views, ideas and expressions from her kids while approaching the nature of motherhood as a single actress. This show has a great meta element with cool cameos and humour peppered throughout. Worth seeing where it goes.
Recommended on the Fall TV: New Shows to Watch From NBC, ABC, FOX By T.J. DeGroat this show hits the spot!! Its Funny, Socially aware, diverse while giving people a voice its well worth watching.
Speechless is about a family with a variety of abilities; wheels, track,space, balance and fight (makes sense when you watch it) trying to live life in a world not made for them (we can all probably relate) Starting again in a new school the group do all they can to have some stability and equality in the most hilarious, down to earth ways possible. This very "imperfect" family are actually the most "perfect" resemblance of family love, devotion and justice you would want to watch.
