Well, that was underwhelming... Maybe it's because I utterly adore the books, and I generally tend to be quite anal when it comes to book adaptations, but this first episode fell short in just about every way. There are changes that are so unnecessary, in fact it appears those changes were made simply for the sake of differing from the books. Book nerd here, DO NOT DO THAT! The institute is a hightech batcave teeming with Shadowhunters. Luke turned into a cop. Valentine is hiding in Chernobyl? What the actual fuck? I mean, really?
The cast, while obviously quite attractive, didn't win me over either. I'm gonna give this a few ore eps, otherwise it's goodbye.
