This show was my first experience with Bryan Fuller and I fell in love. This is the least morbid of his shows, so it is a good one to start with. Just know going in that Bryan does not take himself very seriously, so it may be a bit quirkier than you are used to.

I'm so bummed this is canceled. From what I remember, it does deviate from the book a bit, but I think they did a really good job. My only complaint is that it really should be a mini-series instead of a series, and it wouldn't have been canceled prematurely.

I'm abandoning this show for now. It doesn't seem like a bad show, but I think for now I am done with the coming-of-age, young adult fantasy series. It has been overdone.
