Tortuously boring and rather pointless. Also James Franco is the worst part of this series. I feel like any other, even marginally more charming actor, would have added some more heart to this series. He doesn't even seem that invested in what he is trying to do, I kept thinking why doesn't he just go home to his own life. He just adopted his friend's cause for no reason other than that the guy died. James doesn't have the presence on screen to play anything other than a pothead believably.
