Solid writing and acting. Dark and funny, definitely makes you think twice and thrice about life after loss.
Terrible show. Front he writing to the acting to the portrayal of Paris and French people. Highly predictable, good only to be in the background while cooking or doing something else. I do love Lilly Collins though, looks like she had fun doing this.
Beautiful heart-warming show with believable, real, flawed characters. Reminds me of Parenthood at times. It's brilliantly written and surprisingly enough, never really gets to be corny, not even with so much family drama going on. I laugh and I cry all the time, going on the third season now. I just hope it doesn't get stretched out util it's not good anymore! ;)
I don't understand all the super glowing reviews about this show. It's basically a spanish, but completely americanized, show about a heist. Sure, cool, but sooo many plot holes, so many "forced" twists and I'm not even going to talk about the ending. Like, seriously, there is no way that would be allowed to go through. I was cringing all the time. Sure, it's great that a Spanish show reached so many international viewers but I think it could be way better. I honestly don't get the hype. If we're gonna talk about thieves I'd rather re-watch Leverage or Ocean's 11. And that snobby ass professor.... Just pissed me off the whole time. (Top moments were the "Bella Ciao" ones. Lovely stuff)
I love this show. It's short, so it's not going to take all of your life to be updated. It's funny and sarcastic, which I find very appealing. It's realistic and a but satirical, and I was laughing out loud with some of the scenes. It portraits wonderfully some women from this generation which are struggling with old bias regarding sexual openness, having friends which are many times more important that family, and not really caring about what society thinks - Wanting but not really wanting to fit in. I love it and will definitely see the next season!
Hallmark tv series style, generally decent actors, entertaining enough to pass the time :) I'd compare it to Hart of Dixie and Chesapeake Shore. Don't take it too seriously and enjoy the attractive actors I guess!
I love it. Can't wait for the next season! And I love that not all the actors are amazing singers (even though, most of them are). It's one of the most emotional shows I've seen which mixes musical/comedy genres (although, vey different from my crazy ex girlfriend).
Great job. The last episode of season 1 was the most beautiful I've ever seen, but I'm also loving Maggie's storyline on season 2.
Felt like a basic soap opera, a shame since the concept was interesting. Also the character development was very poor. I just didn't buy the lead protagonist and main storyline, I didn't seem to care about what happened to any of them. Couldn't finish the season.
I wasn't expecting much from this show (for some reason) - Just something to keep on the background while cooking, some laughs, Anna Kendrick being cute. But truth is, after being a single woman for most of my adult life, I really identified with more than a couple of situations on the show. In the end, it felt like a really honest portrayal of a young woman growing up.
I wish I could've loved it. I loved Carole King. I loved little details and characters I missed. I loved so many things...
But then again, so much seemed forced. What's up with Rory and total lack of respect for another person, namely, boyfriend? And why should that be funny?? Is that a way of saying that Rory was only a child during the whole show, that's why she was so naive?
In almost every case of storylines I thought, ow, that's it? That's what happened to her/him? And, sure, maybe if it's realistic, I guess - IF that's what we're going for - , but I expected more of so many of these characters! Lane, Paris... And why did that musical took such a very long time?
Too many things just felt off, all the time. Including the damn finale.
And I was sad that I felt this way, really. Because I really loved this show!
So, better luck next time!
